Replacement stainless steel grills

The grill above has been made using 3mm bar stainless steel, we've welded handles to the side to make it easier to lift out and (on this occasion) our customer asked for a drip tray to go underneath and we were happy to oblige.

Cheap barbecue grills look good on display in a garden centre and will have stainless steel grills inside but there is a big difference. More often than not these cheap barbecue grills feature ferritic type 430 which is not suitable for food preparation, it will rust and your barbecue will deteriorate very quickly. To quote stainless steel manufacturers ThyssenKrupp... "Where cost is a larger factor than life span, 430 may be more suitable"...well we disagree. We would not want to be cooking on this:-

We replace cheap stainless steel grills like these

It's such a shame because there's nothing wrong with the BBQ itself, just that the manufacturer has chosen to cut corners with the grill grates for cost purposes.

Our business is to get your grill back up and running for many years to come without burdening our planet with any more waste than is absolutely necessary.

Que Fresco stainless steel grills are all fabricated by hand to your exacting specifications. You tell us the dimensions and the thickness of bar that you want and we can cost it up from there. If you can email us a photograph then all the better.

  • 8mm bar and above - we use this thickness to replace porcelain enamel bars on many a gas grill

We also make stainless steel grills using 10mm, 12mm and 16mm thich bars.

Caring For Stainless Steel

Our grills do not rust but they still need a little care and attention. After any cook, give your stainless steel grills a scrub with a grill brush to remove any food debris. Most of our customers find the Monolith Heavy Duty Grill Brush to be the most effective tool.

Use any remaining heat from your fire to carbonise any remaining debris and then brush again. If your grills are appropriately sized then you can of course place them in the dishwasher.

Inevitable your stainless steel grills will blacken, this is perfectly normal and will not leave any unwanted marks or deposits on your food when you next cook.
